Ngee Ann Poly Student HERE!/ 10:58 PM  Before you say it or ask, the answer is yes, i'm taking korean as my third language. Since i'm sooo in love with korean fav k-pop/hip-hop BIG BANG! and also love watching certain korean dramas, learning and pronouncing korean is not as difficult as i though. After my first BASIC lesson, i could read and write the basic korean characters. I could even understand some words. Woohooo! Okay enough about my enrichment module, other than that, as you may or may not know, i'm in Aerospace Technology. I was kinda dreading it coz i thought it'll be another physics class only more in depth but im surprised that its not like that at all, i mean of course theres some physics applied and stuff in Thermofluids but it was pretty okay...wasnt that bad... And the other modules such as engineering maths, i've learnt in secondary school so it comes naturally to me. Mechanics, airspace manufacturing and a few other modules are pretty interesting (surprisingly). And in addition, my class is starting to warm up to each other so hopefully it wont be long till we break the ice! hahah. hmmm all in all, poly is sooo sooo different than econdary school and i bet JC as well. In poly, you have to constantly check ur Mel (sth like student mail) for announcements and updates. The lecture might just post out announcement saying he cant make it for the lesson on Mel instead of telling to our class face to face. So i guess its pretty important for us to check our Mel everyday (haiz....) Poly is pretty scary in a sense if ure not the independent type and rely on teachers and friends. As for me, i pretty much like the teaching plan and learning structure of poly life. Soo much more, REAL if i may say so... Lecturers are awesome! some are pretty dull but cute none the least (cute as in, those old geezers with cute flabby cheeks and blur eyes, hahha). In poly another major difference is that, you can do whatever you want. Sms, call, sleep in class you name it man. On the first day of school and my first lesson, my lecturer mrs wong, she was like "if you want to sleep, go ahead, i know you guys are tired but after the lesson just come to me so you can borrow my transparency" I mean like WTH right! hmmm all in all poly life is awesome, not what i expected it to be but still awesome. PDAs = Puking Disgusting Appalling?/ 2:21 PM What are your thoughts on PDA? Are they acceptable? Or should it be done behind close doors? In my opinion, PDAs are quite acceptable but depending on the level of intimacy shown, i mean keep it PG 13 PLEASE! Some couples go for the kill and land a mouth-slobbering kiss on each others lips, some groping actions and some even do stuff which are obscene and emotionally and visually scarring. That then crosses the line of PDAs to FREAKISHLY-EEW-GET-A-ROOM!! moments. However, after saying that much about PDAs, i still find myself thinking that its perfectly okay to see a good looking couple exchanging a peck or two or something like that. BUT!! i find myself horrified and almost having to control my stomach if i spot an ugly looking couple doing the same thing. I don't know why but its more UN-presentable for them to do so. hey, hey, hey, this is my opinion, if you think i'm a basket, then....oh well, actually i am...sooo yeap! :P Okay let me just tell you of an incident that only unfortunate me and my mum and maybe some others who were there at that point of time. We were queuing for the bus when my mum suddenly flinched and told me to look behind me. Upon turning, i caught this couple licking each other on the mouth and on the cheeks, LITERALLY!! The dood was sticking out his tongue and licking his girlfriends mouth and cheeks. I MEAN WHAT THE FUCK DOOD!!!! And thats not the worse of it, They must have been the ugliest looking couple i've ever seen, i'm not fucking kiddin. They both were uberly FAT and UGLY I'm not being a bitch(though i am one) i'm just being painfully honest I turned back to face my mum and did an exaggerated shiver. HAHA and thats what got me and my mum talking bout PDAs. The way my mum puts it, if the couple behind me were at least good looking, it wouldn't really have appeared THAT obscene. An point of view which i totally agree on!! Though its still not acceptable to go licking ur partners face like a freaking hungry ass in public! I still have to say it would have been much better if they were at least good looking. Dun Call Me A Basket!! Why dun you choose between these two then A) A fat, near to obese couple with pimple face and fat fish lips with their tongue sticking out causing their cheeks to puff up like a puffer fish(imagine mrs puff from spongebob, HAHA) licking each others faces. B) A presentable, near to good looking couple with flawless skin and shapelier figures and decent physical features licking each others faces. Which one would you pick? Too bad there no option for neither. To pick option A) is just too horrifying and to upsetting for the stomach. At least B) isnt THAT much better, its still better then option A) Well, back to the story, I couldnt stop cracking jokes about them to my mum, i mean come on la...they freaking asked for it okay, behaving the way they did in public! I mean by just looking at the couple what i could deduce from the scene was that the Fat Boyfriend was really hungry and since they had no food with them at the time (awww....soo sad...) he decided to lick off his Fat Girlfriends face and maybe that would help him sustain his hunger till maybe they get home and she cook him dinner or buy him dinner. And ALSO, the Fat Girlfriend didnt seem to mind it coz apparently she is trying to lose some weight. By getting her Fat boyfriend to eat parts of her, she will eventually lose some fat/meat! VOILA! And THATS how the cookie crumble... I couldnt help but be a basket and feed him and her lines. It was hilarious yet extremely gross at the same time. Really, really gross..... Dark Times and Nursery Rhymes/ 8:30 PM Do you still remember the nursery rhymes taught to you in pre-school? As kids, we just followed and repeat and due to the OH SO NICE SOUND of the nursery rhymes, we sometimes even chant it or say it for the fun of it. But learning all these nursery rhymes, have you ever wondered whats the story or the message or the lesson behind nursery rhymes. Have you ever wondered whether the poems comes from someones over imaginative mind or whether it was based on a true event. Nursery rhymes serve as a way to educate little children about historical as well as daily events. However, do you know the meaning behind the nursery rhymes that we often recite? The oh so popular "Humpty Dumpty", "Ring around the roses" and "Jack and Jill Went Up The Hill" Humpty Dumpty Many would think that Humpty Dumpty was a man due to the popular illustration of a egg-man sitting on a wall. However, Humpty Dumpty is not a person at all Humpty Dumpty is actually a Huge Cannon used in the English Civil War in the Seige of Colchester. The town of Colchester was a walled town. Standing exactly adjacent to the city walls was St. Mary's Church. A huge cannon called Humpty Dumpty was strategically placed on the wall.(humpty dumpty sat on a wall) So the story goes that a shot by one of the opposing party's cannon managed to collapse the wall causing the cannon to tumble to the ground(humpty dumpty had a great fall) And the cavaliers(all the kings men) tried to raise the cannon but to no avail due to the massive weight (couldnt put humpty together again). And therefore leading to the surrender of the strategically located town of Colchester. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall Humpty Dumpty had a great fall All the King's horses and all the King's men Couldnt put Humpty Together again Ring Around The Rosy This particular nursery rhymes refers to an epidemic, the Bubonic plague AKA The Black Death. One of the few symptoms of the Black Death is that the carrier of the disease included a rosy red rash in the form of a ring on the carriers skin (Ring around the rosy). One of the many beliefs was that the disease was transmitted through bad smells, therefore people carry pocket or pouches full of sweet smelling herbs (posies) with them. And the term "Ashes, Ashes" refers to the cremation of dead bodies. The death rate was as high as 60% and the plague was only stopped by the Great Fire of London in 1666 which killed the rat that transmitted the disease via water source. Silver bells and Cockle shells are instruments of torture. The Silver Bells were thumbscrews which crushes the thumb between two hard surfaces by the simple tightening of a screw. The Cockle shells were instruments of torture which were attached to the genitals. And the "maids" was actually a device to behead people called The Maiden. As beheading a person could take up to 11 blows(cruel much!) and that the person in question usually instinctively resisted and had to be chased around the scaffold and hacked by the Executioner, this device was invented(now known as the guillotine) to solve the problem. Hope..what a load of bull/ 12:31 AM Alamak, bloody hell luhh.... After tossing and turning like some maniac on my bed, i finally gave up and decided to just stare at my ceiling and drown myself in the loud post-hardcore music i turned on. Tonight is like every other night, i just surround myself with darkness and just zone out before finally drifting off to sleep... Usually i'll just keep awake and tire myself out so that by the time i lie on my bed i'll just knock out in a few minutes. But not tonight i guess, the usual routine of staring off into space while letting my music blast in my ears but not really listening to it....thinking of...oh well, this and that... Hope a funny word huh? Some believes in it, some don't and some just don't give a shit bout it. Which category do i fall under? hmmm, maybe i do believe in it but then again maybe i don't or maybe i shouldn't even bother hoping, why hope? Hope are for the weak, those that can't and don't do anything about shit...that's why they hope...they don't have the power to control the situation therefore they only hope things turn out for the better...hah ME? I don't hope, if the situation gets better, good then and if it doesn't then i say FUCK IT I dun sit back and just let "FATE/DESTINY" take its course, i make my own destiny...nobody is going to tell me my future is all set and pass me a freaking contract all printed in black and white expecting me to sign it and lay over like a a bitch learning new tricks. Hoping is a waste of time....Why hope when you can try and do something about it? If it doesnt work out, oh well freaking move on then...see? you dun have to fucking hope that the situation will change, you CHANGE IT. "I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. " I can't agree with this more...Without hoping, you dun expect anything and dun have ridiculous wishful thinking that everything will turn out like that fucking fairy tale ending you watch in movies or read in books. You and I know why its there in the first place, to provide people, who cant handle the fact that the world is a fucked up place with a temporary escape from this world filled with disappointment and darkness... I know some of you may strongly disagree and that i may have pissed certain people off, but oh well this is my blog and this is my opinion, so sue me. When the day comes when a damn human being cant have an opinion of their own...its prolly the day where the C_______ grow big dicks, the B_______ dun smell like shit and MATS (this one i can say) dun think about sex all day...HAH fat chance that happening! HUZZAH!/ 8:28 PM HUZZAH!!!!! I have just installed Windows Vista onto my Macbook, boot camp all the shit and stuff and most importantly, i did it ALL BY MYSELF!!! wahahahah!! this is the day where pigs fly and hell freezes over!! ME, Nurul Ameera, I actually installed Windows onto my Mac without anyones help! WOOOHOOOO!! and those of you wondering why its a big deal and all....well let me tell you one thing, I have not a clue of half the shit that goes on in my computer and i am absolutely useless when it comes to computers and shit like this. But here i am, sitting on my bed after just installing windows onto my mac! Oh what an exciting day it is for Me! hahaha On a totally separate note, today was an interesting day.... let me tell you why... Being me, i woke up at 2pm in the afternoon to my phone ringing "the flood" by Escape the fate (AWESOME BAND!!!) and well, that means 1 new MSG!! squinted my eyes to see who the hell msges me at 2pm in the freaking afternoon (hahah) and it was Solehin i think thats how his name is spelt) and the msg reads like this : "3:30 pm. Xcraft tp" took me awhile to figure out what the hell that means...haha(eh! i just awoke from my sleep okay! i'm allowed to be slow you S.O.Bs!) so since i did promise this dood that i'll meet up with him some day, i figured i'll fulfill my promise today and get it over and done with since i had nth else better to do today anyways.... pretty interesting fella this dood...ended up talking bout all kinds of bullshit we could think of...but i have to say, it was quite insightful, hahaha yeah right, about some of the stuff we talked about....fun coz i actually have to focus when talking to him, if i got distracted just for a sec, i'll miss a whole part of the conversation...hahaha Some of the stuff we talked about were controversial and ironic....i love his sacarstic sense of humor, always keep me guessing.... all in all, i had a preeeeettty interesting day.... weird but interesting... ECP BABIES outing/ 10:58 PM Hey Peeps!! I've just finished watching this movie called "Harold and Kumar : Escape From Guantanamo Bay" and i have to say that it's a preeeeetty interesting movie though its really retarded at the same time! Why i watched it? I decided my body and brain are too tired for me to watch something serious or mind boggling and shit like that. MY ASS HURTS!!!! hahaha and why the hell am i telling you that?! oh well, to clear it all up (coz i know what some of you are thinking...SHUT UP!!!) Today was my Freshman Group Outing at ECP. It was an ooookay day i guess, pretty boring and tiring but at least i got to know those people there much much better!   It poured like FUCK there and we were caught in it. So deciding to not let the rain ruin our plans, we locked our bags away in the provided lockers and cycled in the rain watching everyone else huddled in the shelter starring at us like we were a bunch of loons. By the end of the day, our legs were aching and our butts sore, we made our way to the makan place thingy and ordered just some seafood and individual dishes. And thats where i met MR. Mohawk...first thing i noticed when i walked in was the tall standing hair whose owner was sitting comfortably at one of the tables with some of his friends. haha. Awesome hair man.... Anywhoo, while i walked around to check out what food there is, he suddenly came up behind me and kinda scared the living shit out of me....wth lah....sooo yeah...the story continues from there.... INDUCTION!/ 10:08 PM OKAY INDUCTION!!! All the students from the Mechanical Engineering Division were there at 9am in the air conditioned Lecture hall. All not knowing who's the dood or doodette( rare case btw) sitting next to them. It was a pretty great day for me at least, ahhah i made loads of fun, Lawyer Burok people there, some from my course and some from another. There were some activities and buffet all. I have to adit the Buffet SUCKS ASS but the company more then made up for it! hahha At the end of the day, saying goodbye to them was kinda sad but i did go homw with some new found friends who might very well be my classmates!! hahaha now i cant wait for POLY!! haha Labels: Aerospace Tech, ngee ann poly |
